Nik Poli is a Calgary country artist who had outgrown his first website. His new site is built from scratch to grow with each release. Fans can find the next show and join his mailing list, and venues and press get what they need to book him.

Overview

I rebuilt the website for Nik Poli, a country musician from Calgary, Alberta, as a fully custom-coded site, relaunched in October 2026. My goal was a site that feels as bold as the music: a distinctive look, clear paths for fans, bookers, and media, and a technical foundation that can keep growing with his career, from shows and releases to merch.

The challenge

Nik needed a website that could grow alongside his music career, from promoting shows and sharing music to taking booking enquiries, building a mailing list, and eventually selling merch. As a new name in the Canadian music scene, he also needed a site that search engines and social platforms could read clearly, and he wanted a site with its own distinctive look.

The solution

Rather than starting from a template, I hand-coded a site that looks and feels like Nik's music. A dark, moody design with an animated hero image sets the tone the moment the page opens, and the next show and the newest single sit right at the top. Fans can see where he's playing, listen on Spotify or Apple Music, browse photos, and join the mailing list without hunting for anything, while bookers and media get a simple form made for booking enquiries. The mobile version has its own layout instead of a shrunken copy of the desktop site, so it works just as well on a phone at a show. Behind the scenes, the site is built to load quickly and set up so search engines and social platforms can clearly see who Nik is and what he does, with a private admin area protected behind a login.
