About Steve
Steve is a working tech professional passionate about combining music and technology. He studied at the University of Victoria, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Music and Computer Science through a distinctive interdisciplinary program that is uniquely offered in Canada and is among a select few on the west coast of North America. From that, he was a co-op student at the Victoria Jazz Society, which hosts one of British Columbia's longest-running music festivals, the TD Victoria International JazzFest. After Steve's studies, he became a permanent employee at the non-profit organization and began his journey from volunteer coordinator to operations coordinator. Becoming involved in several areas, from artist logistics to volunteer coordination to festival production, all the while redesigning their website for JazzFest's 40th-anniversary milestone.
Steve's uncontainable passion and work for music and public arts in the provincial scene solidified his career path in the music industry. With knowledge and experience in website and software development, his skills reach beyond with a deep-rooted understanding of project development that covers every detail and leaves no stone unturned. This has led him to great success outside the music business, working with other industry professionals in the private learning sector on websites and other tech-related projects.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys lengthy cooking sessions, going to the gym, and has been playing guitar for over 15 years. He values a healthy work-life balance, spending quality time with friends and family, and has a passion for travel. Looking ahead, Steve aspires to give back to both his local and national communities by using his expertise to help others craft their own stories within their respective industries and trades.
